Robert Merrick has always been passionate about photography and photographed his family while very young on all their vacations. Rob continued his photography through High School and College by taking many photography classes. After moving to Europe with his wife, he was able to fulfill a dream he always had of going to Africa. On their first trip to Kenya, they came to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (http://lewa.org) and it was there that Rob found a new inspiration for his photography. Not only had the landscape and scenery exceeded all of his expectations for photography, but the local community and the wildlife are what really drew him in to coming back countless times. Rob has frequented Lewa many times purely for photography and he donates his time and costs for the advancement of Lewa. Rob is truly a professional photographer who won 1st prize at his very first art show. He has been a finalist many times in the BBC Wildlife Competition and has been published in Time Magazine and is featured throughout and on the cover of TUSK's yearly and quarterly brochures. He uses his other profession to fund his passion for wildlife photography and is currently living in Colorado while anxiously awaiting the booking of his next trip back to Lewa. He uses strictly Canon cameras and lenses. You can contact him to see further pictures at [email protected].
